Hurtigruten Expeditions Donates 1% of All New
Alaska & Galápagos Bookings to Protect Local Lands & Wildlife

The holiday season is the time to let those close to you know how much you care and for giving your time and donations for causes that are important to you.

This holiday season, Hurtigruten Expeditions is donating 1% of all new Alaska and Galápagos bookings to the Alaska Wilderness League and the Galápagos Conservancy, respectively, to protect local lands and wildlife. The funds will be donated through the Hurtigruten Foundation.

The Alaska Wilderness League will use the funds for confronting the causes and impacts of climate change and defending America's last great wild public lands and waters, while the Galápagos Conservancy will use the donations for three programs: The Iniciativa Galápagos: Restoring Giant Tortoises, Strengthening the Galapagos Marine Reserve, and Saving Pink Land Iguanas.

For Earth Week earlier this year, Hurtigruten Expeditions and the Hurtigruten Foundation donated to the Alaska Wilderness League, which helps protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Hurtigruten Expeditions is also the only major cruise operator in Alaskan waters to be certified by Adventure Green Alaska, a certification program that defines sustainable tourism as travel to natural areas that benefits local economies, respects the environment, and is sensitive to indigenous cultures.

With exploration and sustainability at its core, Hurtigruten Expeditions takes great pride in respecting and protecting the wildlife, destinations, and communities we visit. During this holiday season, we’re delighted to give back.
